Alphabet Dating - All about B Date Ideas

Alphabet Dating, Alphabet Dates, All about B Date Ideas, Letter dates, letter dating, B dates, Things to do that start with B, Letter B date ideas, all about B, all about letter B, Date Ideas, A to Z Dates, A to Z Date Ideas, Breakout, BD's Mongolian grill, cotton anniversary, second anniversary

My husband and I just celebrated our second wedding anniversary. Since the traditional wedding anniversary gift for two years is cotton, I made my husband a Cotton Gift Basket and he got us a set of shirts that say, "Together Since 2014" when next to each other. For our one year anniversary (paper), I decided I was going to start a new tradition by making my husband an A to Z Wedding Anniversary Date Book. The date book helps us keep track of what we do on our wedding anniversaries and acts as a scrapbook. The A to Z Anniversary tradition goal is to plan everything about your wedding anniversaries around the letter that goes with that year. Since it is our second anniversary we planned our date all around the letter "B".

For our "All about B" date aka second anniversary we played a game of Breakout with my Brothers and sister Brandi. We managed to break out in 55:29 minutes. After the game we went to eat dinner at BD's Mongolian Grill, if you've never eaten there you need to try it. Once we got home we relaxed and played a Board Game.

Try to think outside the box when planning your "All about B" date. You only get to celebrate your anniversary once a year so try to do something different that you don't get to do a lot. Cotton Anniversary Gift Basket plus several more gift ideas for your Second Anniversary

My husband and I have officially been married for two years!!! Today to be exact!!! For our one year anniversary (paper) I made him an A to Z Wedding Anniversary Date Book where we can keep track of what we did on our wedding anniversaries. Since it is our second wedding anniversary the traditional gift idea is cotton. It is harder than you think to come up with a cute cotton gift idea for a guy besides ordering him a shirt. I originally was going to try to create a game on cotton material for him but decided to put together a gift basket where the items in the basket (plastic container) helped spell out the word C-O-T-T-O-N. It is kind of like an acronym for the word COTTON but with small phrases and sayings to go with them instead. I got the idea for this gift on Pinterest so thank you fellow pinners for sharing your anniversary gift ideas!  Of coarse I added my own touch and came up with my own gifts and sayings to go with them to suit our relationship. So when making your Cotton Anniversary Gift Basket, try to come up with some things your husband/wife will enjoy!

My gift basket consisted of cotton candy, two clamps, a cotton t-shirt, a black tie, Q-tips, personalized whiskey glasses, and cotton balls.

I typed up and printed out the letters to spell out C-O-T-T-O-N along with what gift matched that letter and a saying to go with it. I also typed up a short note about how long we've been married and how much I love my husband and attached it to the gift basket.  I used a hole punch and some string to hang my cotton notes above the gifts. You can hang them like I did, tape them to the front of the basket or tape them to the item they go with.

Before you start shopping for items to put in your Cotton Anniversary Gift Basket, I recommend brainstorming items that can go with each letter. If you can't think of an item you can always match it with another word like One, Two, or New. You can buy cotton items that match the letters such as a cotton T-shirt, you can buy items that use the word "cotton" such as a cotton candle, or you can buy any item and just match it to the letter kind of like what I did. Below I made a list of some possible gift ideas you can use in your gift basket. Feel free to comment with other possible gifts to match the letters! I hope this helps you come up with ideas for your husband or wife's Cotton Anniversary Gift Basket!

Example gift ideas:

- Cotton Candy, Candle, Cotton balls, Cotton Candy bubble gum, Cufflinks, Carmax, Cereal, Chocolate, Cigar, Cologne, CD, Calendar, Camera, Comedy tickets, Comedy movie, games: Chess, Checkers, Clue, Cards

Tissue Paper Sun Catcher

Tissue Paper Sun Catcher, sun catcher, kids craft, tissue paper craft, sun catcher, suncatcher, tissue paper suncatcher, decor, summer craft, fun crafts for kids, easy craft, easy craft for kids, colorful sun catcher, colorful craft, DIY

I've had tissue paper sun catchers on my craft to-do list for a while and I finally got the chance to make one with my daughter. I probably would of eventually gotten around to making the tissue paper sun catchers this summer but our local library had them as one of their arts and crafts projects so I decided to go ahead and make them at the library. The benefit of making the sun catchers at the library was that they supplied all the supplies for us! The Tissue Paper Sun Catchers are easy to make, cheap and are a great craft for kids of all ages. My daughter just turned two and was able to make most of the sun catcher (I helped with the glue and scissors).

If you don't want to use it as a sun catcher, you can turn the sun catchers into a small ornament for your Christmas tree or make a heart or flower bouquet for Valentines Day or Mother's Day by attaching them to a straw/stick/pipe cleaner. You can use them as holiday decor by making sun catchers that look like pumpkins, easter eggs, 4-leaf clover, etc...there are several different things you can do with the Tissue Paper Sun Catchers besides just hanging them on your window.

Supplies:

  • Freezer Paper
  • Tissue Paper
  • Construction paper - if you want a boarder
  • Lots of Glue
  • Paint Brush
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard base - Optional, it keeps the paper from rolling up and makes it easier to move while it is drying

How To:

1. Cut up your Tissue Paper. You can cut it into small squares, triangles, lines, etc... this all depends on if you want a pattern to your sun catcher or if it is going to be random.

2. If you want a boarder go ahead and cut it out of construction paper. You can make any shape you want and use any color you want. You can go ahead and glue your boarder to the freezer paper and use it as your outline or wait until the end like we did.

We made a flower sun catcher but some other ideas are a heart, butterfly, star, cross, rainbow, animals, holiday theme, etc... be creative and make whatever you want to make!

3. Tear off a piece of freezer paper and tape it to a cardboard base if you want to, if not just lay the freezer paper on a flat surface.

4. Pour some glue onto to freezer paper and spread it out with a paint brush. My daughter loved helping spread the glue around. I think she thought she was painting.

5. Cover the glue with tissue paper. You can randomly place the tissue paper or make a pattern. Make sure to cover everything so you can't see the freezer paper.

6. Once the freezer paper is fully covered with tissue paper and you are satisfied, cover the entire thing with glue.

It is important to cover all the tissue paper with glue because the glue will hold everything together once it dries. You can see how much glue we used in the picture below.

7. Once the tissue paper is covered with glue you can go ahead and place your boarder on top if you haven't already. If you don't want a boarder then skip this step. Cover the boarder with glue.

8. Let Dry overnight.

9. Once the glue has dried completely, peal the freezer paper off the back and cut your sun catcher out by cutting around your boarder.

10. Hang your sun catcher on a window using tape or using a hole puncher, punch a hole in the top and hang the sun catcher with some yarn/string somewhere where the sun will shine through it.

My daughter loved making the Tissue Paper Sun Catcher and is so proud of it if you can't tell by her smiles in the pictures. My daughter is only two so of coarse I had to help her but she helped spread the glue and did most of the tissue paper. If your child is older and good with scissors then they should be able to make this craft with no problem. You can make any design you want and any pattern you want. Every sun catcher is unique and colorful. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, I can't wait to make more sun catchers with my children!

Mini Liquor Bottle Story - 21st Birthday Gift

We've all seen the Candy Bar Stories all over Facebook and Pinterest. They are all cute and an easy gift for pretty much anybody that loves candy. For my husband's, then fiancĂ©,  21st Birthday I decided to put a twist on the Candy Bar Story by creating a story using mini liquor bottles. Needless to say he loved it!

Mini Liquor Bottle Story, 21st Birthday Gift, birthday gift, alcohol story, liquor bottle sayings, liquor bottle story, mini alcohol bottle gift, mini alcohol bottle story, mini alcohol bottle sayings, twenty first birthday gift, finally legal, birthday gift, candy saying, candy story, alcohol story gift, fun birthday gift, gift for him, mini liquor bottle gift idea, miniature liquor bottle gift, nip gift, nip story, birthday shot gift, miniature liquor bottle story, alcohol sayings, alcohol saying examples

My Mini Liquor Bottle Story:

To my HONEY,
I hope you have an ABSOLUTely Amazing Birthday! Just because we can't go to AMSTERDAM doesn't mean we're going to sit home... No way JOSE! Tonight is your night so go WILD and set the world on FIRE. It's your 21st Birthday so you should be treaded like a King, CROWN and all. Oh and remember tonight you shouldn't have to pay for JACK shit! So PUCKER up and give me kiss and if you get way to drunk or into trouble, I've got your back BUD.
Love, Danielle xoXO

The Mini Liquor Bottle Story took some time and planning. I brainstormed different sayings to go with different liquor brands and made a list *see below for ideas. Once I had a list of ideas I hit the stores. I bought the nicer brands and the Bud Light at Liquor World. They varied in price but I believe the most I spent was around $3 on the Crown Royal. I also visited Liquor Mart because they had a bin of $1 mini liquors. I dug through the bin to see what I could find. I was able to find the American Honey and Fireball which were both on my list and I found the Pucker and XO which weren't on my list but I knew I could use them. I didn't get everything on my list but I got a few others that worked just fine. I tried to get more Whiskey type liquors because my husband likes Whiskey better than Vodka so keep in mind what the person you are making the Mini Liquor Bottle Story for prefers.

Once I bought all the alcohol I was ready to put the story together. I typed the story up on my computer to make sure it fit together well then I wrote it on a poster using sharpies. I drew the mini liquor bottles on the poster as well and colored them in using colored pencils. I drew the liquor bottles on the poster because I knew they would be drank and I wanted my husband to still be able to read the story for years to come!

Mini Liquor Bottle Story Example for a Girl's 21st Birthday:

We'll deal with the AFTER SHOCK tomorrow but tonight the SKYY is the limit. Put on that little black dress SKINNY GIRL and hope your lipstick doesn't SMIRNOFF because I'm 99% sure you will be drunk by the end of the night. Don't let anyone RAIN on your parade because it's your 21st Birthday so you should be treaded like a Queen, CROWN and all. Oh and remember tonight you shouldn't have to pay for JACK shit! So let's go WILD and MAKE our MARK on the town.

Other Possible Story Ideas:

- Maker's Mark: "We'll MAKE our MARK on the town."

- Skyy Vodka: "The SKYY is the limit tonight"

- Hot Damn: "You're so HOT, DAMN."

- Apple Vodka/Whiskey: "You are the APPLE of my eye"

- Kinky: "Maybe later tonight you'll get a KINKY Surprise" or "Enjoy your night but don't get to KINKY."

- 99 Liquor any flavor: "I'm 99% sure you will be drunk by the end of the night." or "I can give you 99 reasons to go out tonight" or "Lets party like it's 1999"

- After Shock: "We'll deal with the AFTER SHOCK tomorrow but tonight the SKYY is the limit."

- Pinnacle Whipped: "P.S: Here is your 21 Birthday WHIPPings before we go out..."

- Malibu Rum: "Just because we can't go to MALIBU doesn't mean we're going to sit home."

- UV Vodka: "We could be catching some UV rays in MALIBU but we're going out instead."

- Rain Organics Vodka: "Don't let anyone RAIN on your parade tonight."

- Skinny Girl: "Put on that little black dress SKINNY GIRL..." or "I've got your back GIRL"

- Smirnoff Vodka: "Hopefully your lipstick and makeup won't SMIRNOFF." or "Get OFF the couch, we're going out tonight." or "OFF to the bars to celebrate!"

- Southern Comfort: "I'll be here to COMFORT you at the end of the night."

- You can use Jim Bean, Jack Daniels, Jameson, or Jose Cuervo as names.

There are hundreds of different liquors out there and I'm sure several of them would work in a cute story. If you have a local liquor store that has a bin of mini liquor bottles or viewing access (some places have the bottles are on a side wall so you can't see them to prevent theft) I recommend checking it out and looking at all the brands because it may help you come up with something else or you can just use my story! Feel free to leave a comment with other sayings or your mini liquor bottle story!
